PHAs (polyhydroxy acids) are the latest skincare super-ingredient. They work in similar ways to other acids, but are more gentle, as they penetrate less deep, and don't increase the skin's sensitivity to sun; and have the extra benefit of helping with the skin's hydration by forming a protective barrier to lock in moisture. In addition to lactobionic acid (one of the main PHAs), this gel contains ceramides, cellulose and hyaluronic acid to moisturise and soothe the skin while its surface cells are being buffed off. The result is fresh, glowing, healthy-looking skin.
